James Ottaway, Principal Consultant
James is the founder and director of Imperfect Circle and has been working in the talent management sector for over 15 years.
After training with one of the UK's largest multi-specialist recruiters, James spent the first 10 years in a variety of corporate sales, bid management and relationship management roles with an emphasis on securing, implementing and retaining some of the biggest MSP and RPO deals in the UK market. Over the last few years, he has focused his attention on commercial leadership and corporate governance as a portfolio commercial director, looking after a number of recruitment, learning, communications and HR services businesses.
Immediately prior to founding Imperfect Circle, James was part of a management team leading an MBO and subsequent onward sale of various specialist recruitment businesses operating in the education, health and social care sectors.
James holds degrees in philosophy and economics from the London School of Economics and a masters degree in English literature with creative writing. This seemingly random mix of disciplines has informed his approach to problem solving throughout his career: (i) ask lots of questions; (ii) develop a framework to understand and interpret the problem and (iii) deliver creative (and dramatic?) solutions.
Charlotte Forsyth, Project Consultant
Charlotte is our project consultant, she provides PMO support for all client projects and also delivers consultancy services directly in the areas of requirements gathering, process improvement, quality management systems and the associated certification processes (e.g. ISO9001).
With a background in platform implementations, SAP training and CRM development, Charlotte has worked on projects across a broad range of organisations within the NHS, food services, consumer goods and leisure sectors.
Her most recent post involved supporting Kent-based businesses with the delivery of apprenticeship programmes and advising companies on their use of the Apprenticeship Levy as well as the administration of student loans. This diverse experience has given Charlotte the ability to understand and address common challenges, interpret new legislation and create successful solutions across multiple settings.
After graduating in textile design, Charlotte began her career as a buyer before undertaking further postgraduate study in project management techniques at Birbeck College and via the Open University.
